A Message from the Squadron:

We are working on a "Heritage Wall" here at the squadron. We have it pretty well covered from the years 2000 to present but what we would really like to get are some good photos of 465 in action in the 80s and 90s. Specifically we are looking for 11x14 prints that could or should be on the Warhorse highlight reel. We would like to get between 6 and 10 good pictures from each decade.

You can submit your pictures electronically if you would like. Just email your image(s) to 465.Warhorse@gmail.com we can take care of printing them out from there. Or if you would prefer, feel free to bring your pictures to the reunion and we will collect them there.

Call to Action!

To All Warhorses - Capt Matt Bauman with 465 has the opportunity to get a 30th anniversary 465 poster made by the same accomplished artist Joe Jones (http://www.airmail-greetings.com/) who did the wings over Gillespie art. We've got an 80% reduction rate for the artist's fee and we're looking to recruit alumni to donate the $2K for the artwork etc... Capt Bauman is good for $200, I (Matt Geans) am good for $100 or $200 and we just need to get the word out. In order to make the airshow and reunion deadline, we have to commit to the first 50% on Monday so we have the weekend to pull this together - or to field the interest of those who can or would like to participate. Please foward to other 465'ers that you know that aren't included on this message.

Warhorse Time Capsule

Marines, a "Warhorse Time Capsule" is being created. Here's how you can help.

Bring something of historical value to HMH-465 to the reunion. Something from your time in the Squadron (something relatively small! No Jeep hoods.)

We will then secure these items in a time capsule that will be held at HMH-465 under lock & key. Something to be opened at some point in the future at another reunion.

This will keep a legacy going as the squadron gets older.

Some have already preserved old NATOPS pocket checklists and a few other items to preserve in the box, The idea is gaining momentum back here at the squadron.

To all Warhorse vets out there, bring something to the reunion... old 465 coins/patches, pictures, logbooks, etc. All of that stuff has historical significance that can be shared in the future with upcoming Warhorses.

This year's Reunion is scheduled to run from Thursday the 13th of October 2011 to Sunday the 16th. We have some Marines that will be getting into town as early as Wednesday the 12th and leaving as late as Monday the 17th. The longer you stay the longer you can play. After all, it only happens every two years, right? And this is a big one, We are celebrating 465's 30th anniversary!

The 2011 HMH-465 Warhorse Squadron Reunion Dinner Party is the evening of Saturday the 15th of October 2011, time TBD.

As many of you know, We will be putting out an itinerary that covers from the 13th to the 16th. That means that we will have a set place to be every day that we are there in Vegas.

The price for admission to the Reunion Dinner will include* a fancy dinner, a unit coin, a commemorative mug and a unit patch (similar to picture). We will also be working on getting everyone a drink ticket or two to go with each dinner ticket.

*-Please remember that the items included with your ticket are subject to change as we work on bringing    you the best bang for your buck.

The 2011 HMH-465 Warhorse Squadron Reunion is afoot! Here's the info you've been asking for.

Dates of the reunion are as follows: 13th through the 16th of October 2011.

We need a headcount ASAP. The headcount is important for both blocking off hotel rooms & the ordering of reunion dinners. As such, please be sure to purchase your dinner tickets as early as possible so that we may derive the count; Our count will be based on the number of dinner tickets sold. All tickets for this event will be sold through this website. You may click the "Buy Now" button above for dinner ticket details.

I would also recommend that you start looking into booking your air travel as soon as possible. Fly in on or before the 13th of October and fly out on the 16th or later. The Dates are set so that's a safe bet!

Hotel info to follow. As always Marines, remember that this is a living breathing webpage. While the dates won't change, the activities associated with the reunion are subject to updates so keep checking back to stay informed.
